Snapshot of key accountabilities:
- Provide consulting services and make recommendations to clients on innovative business tax planning and compliance services in a timely and effective manner
- Review tax returns prepared by staff and make recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities
- Prepare corporate, partnership, individual, trust and non-profit tax returns
- Assist Partners in running client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects and managing to budget
- Ensure complete client satisfaction through open communication, managing and meeting deadlines and proactively sharing tax saving strategies
- Work closely with Partners and Staff on client management, professional development and business development activities
- Resolve minor issues directly with the IRS and other tax authorities
- Assist with resolving more complex issues with IRS and other tax authorities
- Participate and or lead client meetings
- Supervise, train, and mentor associates and interns on tax projects and assess performance of staff for engagement reviews
Skills/Experience/Knowledge required:
- Minimum 5 years public accounting experience
- Strong technical skills pertaining to tax compliance, agency correspondence and tax research
- Ability to attract and develop profitable, sustainable client relationships
- Experience with Ultra Tax, Accounting CS and Practice CS highly preferred
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Significant familiarity with QuickBooks
- Bachelors in Accounting a must; Masters in Taxation or LLM a plus
- CPA certification is mandatory
