About the position:
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, financial control, accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of hotels and corporate office parks, and providing the financial information necessary for management to make the right decisions about our company’s future. At the present time, you will manage one AP/AR clerk.
Snapshot of key accountabilities:
- Oversee the activities of the accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits and budgets
- Oversee the activities of disbursement, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, employee expense reports, cash control, payroll processing, and payroll tax compliance
- Oversee the activities of accounts receivable to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, etc., funding service management, quarter and year-end payroll closing including federal and state reports and check statistic management
- Assure corporate income tax compliance
- Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data
- Working with the Regional Director of Operations to assist in the preparation of budgets and track profit/loss by business unit
- Review and approve monthly bank reconciliations and G/L reconciliations for assigned hotel properties and corporate entities
- Preparation of special reports such as capital reports, investor reports, etc.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience required:
- 10 years hands-on accounting experience in a managerial role with at least 5 years experience in the hospitality industry and proficiency with hotel accounting
- Financial responsibility for multiple hotels and preferably other businesses highly preferred
- Liaison with CPA’s and investors – highly preferred
- Strong experience with P&L preparation, cash flows, monthly/quarterly financials
- Strong experience with hotel/corporate bank account reconciliations
- Proficient with hotel payroll systems (preferably Inova)
- Experience with M3 and Opera hospitality software
- Familiar with Hilton/Marriott/IHG brands and systems
- Strong skills in MS Office, particularly Excel
- Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
