If you thrive in an environment that moves very quickly and is always changing, we would like to hear from you!  Decimal Engineering, located in Pompano Beach, Florida, is a leading manufacturer providing sheet metal fabrication and machining services for a wide variety of industries.   We are seeking a CNC Programmer to join our team of talented professionals.  The CNC Programmer is responsible for providing all routings, drawings and support documentation needed to process jobs according to our stringent engineering specifications and quality standards and to ensure the manufacturability of all projects.

Snapshot of key responsibilities include:

  • Develop CNC programming for wide range of lathes and mills
  • Product development & solid modeling
  • Develop detailed product drawings
  • Troubleshooting
  • Support efforts of machine operators in daily operation of the shop
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by applying lean manufacturing methodology
  • Assist Engineering and Operations in the bid & proposal process as required
  • Responsible for programming, editing, modifying and maintaining files on all parts manufactured on CNC equipment
  • Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications and design data to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds and feed rates
  • Follow, initiate and implement procedures and setup sheets

Skills/Experience/Knowledge:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in manufacturing environment (preferably in a job shop)
  • Practical experience with 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks preferred)
  • Experience with CAM software (Edgecam is preferred)
  • CNC programming experience (with G and M codes)
  • ERP/MRP experience, including BOM’s and routings (Made2Manage is preferred)
  • Thorough understanding of machining concepts and production equipment
  • Proficient with Excel, Word and Outlook
