Snapshot of Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure material and fabrication specifications meet customer requirements.
- Program CNC router for custom fabrication project.
- Draft accurate as-built field measurements in efficient manner
- Coordinate details and specifications with other vendors.
- Understand and utilize industry standards for line weights, dimensions, texts, and other basic drafting functions.
- Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
- Operate computer-aided drafting (AutoCAD 2014) equipment or conventional drafting station to produce designs, working drawings, charts, forms and records.
- Produce accurate 2-D drawings and basic 3-D renderings
- Analyze building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs.
- Draw rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings and structures, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data.
- Lay out and plan interior room arrangements for commercial buildings using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software.
- Obtain and assemble data to complete CAD designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary.
- Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to lists of materials.
- Analyze technical data of design concept to generate estimate for bidding purposes.
- Prepare cost estimates, contracts, bidding documents and technical reports for specific projects under project manager supervision.
- Prepare colored drawings of interior designs for presentation to client.
- Create freehand drawings and lettering to accompany drawings
- Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.

Skills/Experience/Knowledge required:
Must haves:
- 3-5 years of CAD experience
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings.
- Proficient in AutoCad
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the basics of Florida building codes.
- 2-4 year degree in architectural design or a combination of training and experience
Of value:
- High end stone and tile experience including setting, fabrication and restoration methods is a plus
- Experience with Revit and/or Sketchup will be considered a plus.
- Conversant in Spanish
- Knowledge of QuickBooks helpful
- Architectural and design skill as the position will require some design work
