More about the role…

You will be responsible for ensuring that quality standards are being met and all procedures are followed.

Snapshot of key accountabilities:

  • Turn on the boiler and the equipment first thing every morning and ensure that all of the equipment is in working condition.
  • Sort all of the clothes before putting them in the machines. (All clothes with stains must be pre-spotted before being cleaned).
  • Prioritize items that are being redone to avoid any further delays (or ask the person who detailed the item to reach out to the customer for additional time to process the item).
  • Maintain a neat and clean spotting board. All bottles must be labeled, spill proof, and full at ALL TIMES.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure, before you go home, that there are no passed due items in your department.
  • Inspect all of the items for damages or stains before sending the items to the pressing or finishing departments. (Any items with spots will be spotted at this point).
  • Keep all the color lots together.
  • Keep poundage charts and turn them into the supervisor on a weekly basis.
  • Store all solutions properly in storage cabinets. Make sure the eye wash is kept clean and in good condition.
  • Maintain dry cleaning machines and if repairs are needed, inform the proper party to ensure repair is completed.
  • Order any supplies necessary for the spotting department.
  • Change filters when necessary and make sure that protective equipment is properly used at all times.
  • Cook and distill on a daily basis.
  • If you are closing the plant, ensure all of the equipment is turned off. (All work must be completed before turning off the equipment).
  • Report safety hazards in a timely manner.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Minimum 1 year experience spotting and dry cleaning experience and clear understanding of the processes in the plant
  • Bilingual – highly preferred
  • Ability to work Monday – Saturday
