About the position:

Reporting directly to the CEO, with a dotted line to the Executive Director of Operations, the Manager of QC is responsible for creating documentation, processes, and systems to assure product quality for Lightning Systems powertrain products.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work with key Lightning Suppliers to understand and drive the quality of incoming parts, and put in place an incoming audit/inspection program
  • Work with the production and upfit teams to improve quality through new processes, systems, automation, and tools/fixtures
  • Work with the production and upfit teams to put in place in-line and post-production inspection processes
  • Document processes and systems and maintain documents for key certifications (Ford eQVM)
  • Communicate quality status, concerns, and progress to the Lightning executive team weekly through dashboard metrics and a short written report.

Skills/Experience/Knowledge required:

  • 5 years’ experience in a production/manufacturing environment, preferably in the transportation space
  • Experience and familiarity with ISO 9001 and QS 9000
  • Experience in designing tooling & production processes
  • Experience or willingness to take on a startup and growing environment
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering, quality, or manufacturing
  • Must be a team player and have strong interpersonal relationship and proactive communication capabilities
  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail, results oriented
  • Enjoys writing, with strong communication skills
  • Travel is required (Up to 20%)
