About the position:

You will be responsible for generating sales by closing multi-location and complex direct sales opportunities as well as growing sales within assigned national accounts by increasing the number of locations and improving our share of wallet within existing locations.  The BD Manager will be responsible for direct selling to qualifying management groups, restaurant groups, resorts, hotels and other operators.  The ability to effectively articulate how Source 1 solutions provides value, developing and managing a robust sales funnel and being accountable for achieving assigned sales targets are critical to this position.

Key accountabilities:

  • Achieve assigned sales targets and accomplish shared company-wide objectives.
  • Create a vision and design a plan to succeed.
  • Cold call prospects created through individual and company support lead generation efforts
  • Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and convert them into sales
  • Identify decision makers within targeted leads
  • Create, schedule and deliver sales and product demonstrations
  • Support marketing efforts such as trade shows, exhibits and other events when necessary
  • Cultivate the direct sales relationship and assist in coordinating the prospect through a seamless transition to our Purchasing Activation team
  • Effectively utilize Salesforce customer relationship management system (CRM) for managing sales funnels, tracking activities and appointments, and accessing key performance indicator (KPI) reports.
  • Provide exceptional levels of customer service and attention to all Source1 Purchasing prospects, customers, partners, and employees with the goal of providing an exceptional experience and increased loyalty to our company.
  • Business Plans will be used to organize and review growth strategies, activities and performance versus targets/objectives.  Is the BDM writing the business plan?
  • Track and report key performance measurements for assigned territory that will be shared regularly with your team leader as a regular review of performance, trends, and areas of focus to support an effort of continual improvement.
  • Gather, evaluate, interpret and share market trends and competitive information to company leadership, marketing, sales and operations.
  • Structure a campaign-based approach to identify, qualify and advance the sales efforts within larger lead groups what do you mean by larger lead groups?

Skills/Experience/Knowledge Required:

  • Minimum 3-5 years full sales cycle experience with demonstrated success in closing large, multi-unit/multi-level sales opportunities that meet and exceed sales quotas
  • Track record of working within the lodging, restaurant and food service industries preferred
  • Skilled at telephone sales and experienced in generating new leads, cold calling.
  • Consultative sales skills, adept at selling value.
  • Solid computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, SalesForce; advanced skills in Excel is preferred
  • Able to travel up to 25% if required
